About Me

One of my goals for 2007 was to blog, and so it began. My original intent was to post some of my photos and write about my passion for plants and living things, hence the name: A Passion for Green. However, blogs have a tendency to grow and change and I feel a desire to make my blog a reflection of my whole self. If you read this blog, I hope you will keep this in mind, that I am trying to share my whole self here-personal, social, professional and spiritual. Some days I’ll write about my research topic of sustainability, some days I’ll write about my childhood memories and current decorating scheme. I believe it is important to stay whole, to keep everything in one’s life integrated. It has to ALL make sense, otherwise you are not being true to yourself. I want to celebrate real people, with real, complex lives!

I am currently a 51 year old graduate student, a woman in transition, a mother of a 27 year old son living in Poland, a sister, a friend, one piece in a mid-western American college town.  As for the photo above, yes, it’s a little old now and I do have some gray hair, but it’s the last professional photo that I had taken.  It is from my “teacher-ish” days in Indiana….don’t you love school picture day?!

    Sherry said,

Hi!! I found your site by looking for pictures of suburbia. I’m writing a post about city versus country living and could use your picture if you don’t mind. By the way I like the name of your site and the colors. It’s a lot like mine! I see you’ve been blogging for almost 3 years now! Amazing!! I’d love your opinion on my site if you have time and any tips you can give me.

Thanks for sharing through your blog!!

    Sherry
